Choosing your Doodle Puppy!

Windsong is dedicated to raising healthy puppies. Because of this, we must be very cautious about who comes into our homes. The safety of our dogs/puppies and children is our utmost priority.

If you want to make sure you are getting your puppy from a reputable breeder we highly encourage you to read our Google reviews, follow our Instagram account, and reach out to our past families. This should give you the confidence to know you are working with a loving and careful breeder.

We’re serious about protecting our pups from PARVO!! A puppy’s immune systems are very immature. Weaning puppies weakens their immune systems even more. Until pups are fully vaccinated they are extremely susceptible to parvo as well as other communicable diseases. Parvo is not only carried on the bottoms of shoes but also on your clothing. Parvo is oftentimes deadly for puppies and at a minimum very expensive to treat. For this reason, we do not allow any shoes in our home or yard and we do not allow visitors. These are not really “our” puppies and we can’t afford the risk.

As you have probably discovered after reviewing our website, our wait times are quite long. All of our puppies have waiting for families that are very excited to welcome their new baby into their homes. Windsong’s job is to give these little babies the best start and to keep them as healthy as possible. When it is your turn to get a puppy you will confidently know that your pup has had the best and most intentional start.

Please also keep in mind that we are NOT A KENNEL! Our pups are raised inside our home. We will not respond to strangers who email asking if they can come to visit our home to see puppies. We have an obligation to our children and puppies to keep them safe. On top of that, raising puppies is a very demanding 24/7 job. As it is we struggle to balance family time without the additional demands of visitors.

If you would like to move forward with a reservation, please take some time to fill out our puppy application. This gives us an idea of your home and family life and what temperament would match your lifestyle best. There are no right or wrong answers! Once your application is received we will reach out regarding moving forward with making a reservation.

We take extensive notes on your preferences for your dream puppy. We take into account your preferred color and gender.

When we breed one of our mommas we will announce it to those at the top of our list. We don’t want to get your hopes up until we are very sure we can get you a baby from the pairing.

When the litter is about a week old we will contact you again to make sure you 100% want to move forward with the available litter. You can choose to pass if the timing isn’t right or your preferences have changed.

To protect all the younger unvaccinated puppies in our home, all puppy “picks” are handled virtually. This has worked exceedingly well. No one knows these pups better than our family and we will be sure to make sure the temperament of your puppy matches with your lifestyle and family life.

Once you choose your puppy, you have more decisions to make.

First, will you be having one of our trainers start your puppy’s training or will you do it yourself.

If you choose our Puppy Kindergarten class, we do all the heavy lifting. We will make sure your puppy gets to the trainer safely. We encourage a meeting with our local clients that first weekend, if possible. During this meeting you get to snuggle your new baby while you discuss training goals with the trainer.

If you choose to train your puppy yourself, you have options when it comes to receiving your puppy. You are welcome to come to our home to pick up your puppy. OR you can choose for our driver to deliver the puppy to a location closer to you. We do offer affordable delivery service to the coastal So Cal. We do also offer door-to-door delivery upon request.
